Purchasing
Once you determine what you want to buy, simply contact the auction or connect with them through the link provided and fill out the necessary registration paperwork. Keep in mind, we do list all the private dealer only auctions as well. Most of the private auctions also have public auctions at their facilities. You will need to be registered before you can bid on any item. We suggest you go to the auctions in person, rather than buying anything online. At least in the beginning until you feel comfortable buying unseen products. It really helps not making a mistake, when you can touch it, smell it, and feel it. Once you are familiar with the auction and their policies, you will be more comfortable bidding online. We suggest you check out the vehicle as good as you possibly can. You don't have to be an expert here, but we suggest you check the oil, transmission fluid, etc. to determine if there are any apparent issues with it. Start it up and listen to the motor, most auctions do not mind if you drive it backwards and forwards to determine any power train issues. At any rate, rule out any obvious problems with the vehicle before you start bidding on it.
Once the auction begins, they will make announcements to the mechanical worthiness of the vehicle. They will also announce if the car is as is or contains a warranty. Usually a warranty from auction means you have the right to have it checked out by your mechanic or theirs. We usually recommend that you have a post sale inspection on the car. The auction mechanic will check for problems, and then note a pass or fail inspection. If it fails the Post Sale Inspection, you will not be obligated to purchase it. However; you can still go back and negotiate with the auction for a cheaper price to pay for the problem. They have the right to accept or reject the counter offer. Despite some misconstrued information about auto auctions, it is the safest and most productive avenue of purchasing a used car. First you purchase the car at a wholesale auction price, and then have it inspected for mechanical errors before you are obligated to purchase it. You will not get that with an individual sale or dealer off the street. Most boat, ATV, airplane, and heavy machinery auctions have the same policies.
